They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. But there’s no denying that a strong image can attract a reader. Designing striking covers is just one of the services our Design Department offers publishers across Wales.
Our full range of design services includes.
- Designing book covers
- Designing complete books, from cover to cover
- Providing visual material, such as photographs and illustrations, for books.
Our Senior Designer and Design Officers are all experienced graphic designers. Although they undertake much of the Department’s work themselves, they also benefit from the services of between 30 and 40 freelance designers, illustrators and photographers, using their expertise in particular areas.
The Department is also responsible for the Books Council’s branding and internal publications.
