TRUSTEES
Are you passionate about encouraging more people to pick up a book and benefit from all the advantages associated with reading?
Are you keen to contribute towards the important work of supporting the publishing industry in all parts of Wales, in Welsh and English?
The Books Council of Wales is seeking to appoint up to two new trustees to join the ten current members of the Board to ensure that we have the management structure appropriate to our current and future demands. We are a charity that believes in diversity and inclusion and in having a Board of Trustees, wider workforce, and grant-supported content from Wales that reflects the whole of society.
We welcome applications from people from a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and levels of experience; who have an interest in the field of books and magazines; who believe they can help support our work and strategic aims, and help deliver the inclusive representative industry we are committed to as an organisation.
This time, we are especially interested in hearing from individuals with:
- a working knowledge of the current curriculum in secondary education in Wales;
- academic expertise in the field of Welsh Writing in English, or
- experience of community engagement activities centred around young adults.
The appointments will be for an initial period of four years, and members are expected to attend four meetings of the Board every year. These are unpaid voluntary posts, but all reasonable expenses will be paid.
For more details and to make an application, or for enquiries, please contact menai.williams@books.wales
Closing date for applications is: midday on Monday, 19 May 2025.
